Hi all,

I parked on single yellow line with no signs nearby restricting me from parking. I saw the officer as he has finished giving me the ticket and challenged on the reasons, he said the other drivers had a blue badge and I could not park there. I asked for the specific sign showing that I am in the wrong and he just mentioned the zone that I entered in Kingston? Please advise if I have a chance to stand up my grounds.

Thank you.

Hi all. Today I parked on off street parking and focused on the side markings making sure I was as close to the curb as possible, trying to squeeze between front and back parked cars, I returned within paid time to get a ticket for not parking correctly. Soon after I realized that was to do with the horizontal boarder and I seemed to be between 2 spaces. I had a baby on the front seat and trying to avoid the post to the left was sort of juggling how to park to have access to the boot to get my baby’s buggy. Either way, it was not my intention to take 2 spaces for sure,is there a chance to appeal for markings not being clear? Or any other valid reasons?

Non-motoring legal advice / Small claim struck out
« on: April 12, 2025, 08:55:41 pm »
I am a claimant for a small claim for negligence and breach of duty of care. I have been through all stages including mediation, offers and ended up having a preliminary hearing at court. I was late for the hearing for 3 minutes and was not allowed in by the judge. Later received a letter saying the following:
The claim was struck out (see attached). Reasoning is quite unclear to me, as well as the next course of actions.

I suppose, I can potentially appeal, as I was rushing on weekday with a newborn and the lift was out of order. The judge was very rude towards me and also the defendant failed on so many occasions with providing me documents.

Alternatively, I can start a fresh claim? Please advise.

Non-motoring legal advice / Counterclaim form a defendant civil case
« on: December 12, 2024, 09:29:59 am »
Hi all. I filed small claim court against a clinic who provided me with a poor quality none result course of treatment. Costs involved were over £1600. I started the case in May 2024, we had unsuccessful mediation and they simply denied everything I raised against them. We did not agree on the amount they offered during mediation and therefore the case progressed to county court at Kingston-upon-Thames. At first defendant filed a simple bare denial and I had a letter from court on 18/10/2024. Yesterday I received another letter from the court saying the defendant has filed a defense and a counterclaim, however I did not receive any of those documents as they were supposed to be attached. I am very confused and also nervous as to why and how they could possibly file a counterclaim? Please advise how to get the access to those documents and what are the consequences of those actions for me?

Good afternoon,

I driver received PCN for being in yellow box on Kingston road stationary for about 20 seconds. The driver thought the traffic was slow but started to move slowly, and so proceeded when it suddenly stopped it was unsafe to reverse as there was another car behind. To the left there was a cycle lane. Two yellow boxes one next to another and the view for the second yellow box was obstructed by vehicles in front. Any chance for appeal?

Thanks.
