Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to get some advice regarding a PCN I received during stay at Premier Inn, and I'm not sure how to approach it. Here are the details:

In July 2024, I stayed at Premier Inn in Wolvinston, Billingham, and as per the hotel’s policy, I registered my vehicle’s registration details with them. Despite following the process, I was still issued a PCN for parking. I have a bank statement that shows I paid for my stay, proving I was a legitimate guest at the time the PCN was issued.

To make matters worse, I didn't receive the PCN until recently because it was delivered to an upstairs flat in my building that has been vacant for nearly a year. The property owner moved to Pakistan, and the flat is currently up for sale. I only found out about the PCN on 17/09/2024 when someone from upstairs handed it to my carer. So, I wasn’t able to respond in time.

I also want to mention that I have significant health issues that limit my mobility, including 3 heart attacks, 3 strokes, a spinal injury, a broken hip joint, gout, glaucoma, and recently, a cancer diagnosis. As a pensioner with these serious health conditions, this situation has added a lot of stress, and financially, the fine is really burdensome.

I’m hoping to challenge the PCN on the grounds that I registered my car at the hotel, but I’m unsure how to word my appeal, especially with the delay in receiving the notice.

Has anyone had a similar experience or any advice on how to word my appeal effectively? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,
John

only evidence available to me of booking are a text message from a friend suggesting to book hotel and hotel payment transaction in the bank as showings below.

Hi everyone,

I’m in a bit of a pickle and could use some advice regarding a speeding ticket. On 28th July, my brother was caught speeding by a fixed camera on the M25 motorway (junction 23-22, anti-clockwise) in Hertfordshire at 9:46 AM, doing 81mph in a 70mph zone.

He was visiting me in London at the time for a family gathering, and since he is insured to drive any car as a third party, he was driving my car to pick up a family member. I’ve already nominated him as the driver in response to the notice.

However, I’ve come across some information online that’s left me a bit confused. It seems that in Scotland, they don't offer the speed awareness course option and instead issue penalty points and a fixed fine right away. My brother’s registered address is in Scotland, and I’m concerned this might affect whether he’ll be eligible for the course here in England.

Can anyone clarify if the location of his license registration in Scotland will prevent him from being offered a speed awareness course in England? Will the local rules apply, or does it depend on where the offense took place? Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance for your time.

Hi

I received this NIP on 1st Aug 2024 for speeding on 30 July 2024.

Speeding - motor vehicle exceed 70 mph on a dual carriageway - manned equipment travelling at 80 mph at : A27, J/W Norton Lane, Aldingbourne

I was travelling from london to west wittering beach and traveling time took excessively long due to road works. i started journey at 8.11 am without stopping reached 12:27 .. 2.30hr journey taking 4.30hr minutes.

passing this location i did realise there was a van parked in the middle behind tree in the hidden while passing i was at 70 mph then might exceeded for a sec or two as this is downhill i guess but my dash cam shows doing 70 mph at the same location where the van was parked at the same time.  kindly advise and see the picture taken from dash cam video attached.

I wanted to share an experience I had recently while visiting Southend Sea with my family on April 14. I used Parkopedia to find what was indicated as free parking in the area. Based on this information, I parked my vehicle away from any signage, assuming it was permissible.

To my surprise, upon returning to my vehicle, I found a parking ticket. I immediately reached out to challenge the ticket via email.

Today, I received a response stating that my explanation was not considered valid, but I was offered a discounted rate to settle the fine.

I'm reaching out to this forum seeking advice and guidance on how to proceed further. Is there anyone who has experienced a similar situation or who might have insights into contesting such tickets effectively?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
