Civil penalty charge notices (Councils, TFL and so on) / Pending resident parking permit, hit with PCN - Walthamstow

I’ve applied for a resident parking permit, that seemed to take forever to go through. Although I know they say give it 10 days for them to process, I still have to park my car somewhere. I received a few PCN’s for parking in a residential area without authorisation, my permit has now been accepted but I’m hit with the PCN’s. Is there any chance of challenging these? Wondering if I could fight the good fight or just take it on the chin and pay for them.
