Hi all,

I am generally very careful when I park the car and on this specific days say some traffic wardens going around so I ensured the car was parked on the road and not on the pavement where there are no marked bays ( i.e. those that are half on and half off)

my car was parked against the raised pavement kerb and no parking restrictions in place. its a residential street in havering. as you can see from the photo my rear wheels are clearly where the kerb is at its highest hight alongside the normal height of the pavement. my number just comes to the point where the kerb starts to slide down to the carriageway level but at no point is any part of my car anywhere  beyond that point and definitely not at carriageway level.

I am aware that under s 86 of the traffic management act 2004 it states under s86(1)(a)

(1)In a special enforcement area a vehicle must not be parked on the carriageway adjacent to a footway, cycle track or verge where—

(a)the footway, cycle track or verge has been lowered to meet the level of the carriageway for the purpose of—

as my vehicle was not parked on the carriageway where it has been lowered to meet the level of the carriageway I cannot see how I would be liable for a PCN.

I have therefore submitted an informal appeal on that basis and will wait to hear back from them. has anyone here dealt with this recently and what was the outcome and how long did it take. I have come across a post from another user from 2024, I have dropped a message in that one to see if he can share his outcome.

grateful for input from anyone.

apology I am having trouble uploading photos. how do I do this?

Hi all,

I hope everyone's well. My message was to @Saj_87 how did it all go, was the ticket dismissed. I have seen someone get their ticket cancelled on Facebook but just thought id ask.

I got this last friday and just submitted an appeal. I parked in a residential street and the back of my bumper was just near the slope bit but the actually bit where the kerb comes to the carriageway level was completely clear.

it feels like a resident tried their luck seeing a traffic warden going past and getting my car ticketed. its not somewhere I often park and just really annoying. I read the relevant legislation and can see that where the kerb is at carriageway level and a vehicle blocks it that that would result in a ticket.

good to know how other users have had their appeals and challenges go.

thanks in advance.
