Civil penalty charge notices (Councils, TFL and so on) / Re: Leicester City Council, code 99 (parked on crossing/zig zags), 33 Putney Rd LE2 7TG
« on: January 15, 2026, 08:39:10 pm »I think I would reduce your middle paragraph to its last sentence...but submit it and lets see what nonsense they come up with.
I did just that and got this reply today:
Thank you for your informal challenge which was received in our office on 06/01/2026.
Leicester City Council have decided on this occasion to cancel the above PCN and no
further action is required after considering what you have said.
However, please be advised that the place where you were parked is not a designated
parking space or area and drivers should not park on the pavement as this can damage
paving or underground pipes and can is dangerous for pedestrians, especially blind people
or people with prams.
It is also advised that Euston Street Police station is in close proximity to the location
where your vehicle was parked and the Police can also issue a Fixed Penalty Notice
(FPN) for driving along the pavement.
Any further incidents where your vehicle is parked on the pavement next to zig-zag lines
will be brought to the attention of the Police and this does not set a precedent for any
future PCNs issued in respect of your vehicle.
Yours sincerely,
etc
(Their use of English).
Thanks for the sound advice!!
