The historic streetview images show the kerb /layout better (2018 is free of cars and the structure/lineing looks unchanged)
It does looks like the kerbline is low for the whole length of the street and has been raised at the start of the yellow lining as part of the pavement buildout from the original kerbline, to then allow it to then be dropped to create the obvious crossing point on the corner.
I don't see how they can claim it to be a crossing point when it is so obstructed by the telephone box, lamp post and no entry sign post - and had it been intended to be a crossing point then the yellow lines should have been extended to stop parking at it.
