Victory. Thanks very much for your help and for this site in general. In addition to your response to the LOC that I sent, I also sent a complaint, essentially using a template I found on this site. I just received this from (not so) Smart Parking.

Thank you for your email.

We can confirm that the parking charges have been cancelled, therefore no further action is required.

The debt recovery agency has been advised accordingly.

I wasn't sure myself until searching emails but I was the hirer. I have also since found earlier mail from DCBL prior to the final demand and LOC. They provide a SmartParking Penalty charge number for both charges. But certainly no NTK and NTH. The LOC is dated 3rd July 2025

Over 3 years after two alleged contraventions at a car park associated with KFC, DCBL started demanding a payment which in very short order escalated to DCBL Legal sending a Letter of CLaim.

The first I heard about it was a Final Reminder from DCBL dated 4th June. I didn't see anything earlier. I have never been the vehicle registered keeper for this vehicle and at over 3 years ago for the alleged contravention I don't remember any details of driving a car on those dates - who would?.

I received no communications from SmartParking about this at all prior to the claims by DCBL - to my knowledge - again, 3 years is a long time. They may have communicated with a hire company.

I have not received from Smart Parking or DCBL any original notice to keeper or notice to hirer.

How should I respond?
