Thanks for the response. I had left my unit at the time and went on Easter leave/holidays. After Easter I would go on a 2 week course in a different location and following that I would start at my new unit. I didn't know the address of my new unit until near the end of the 2 week course which is when I updated my V5.

Bottom line is that my post was lost within the organization or wasn't forwarded to me - all I received was this most recent £590 charge. Is it worth fighting my case for some leniency with them?

Hello,

April 2024 I was driving through London with my partner and asked her to pay for the ULEZ charge on her phone as we were entering the zone. Unbeknownst to me she accidentally entered 0 instead of an O when typing my numberplate.

Fast forward to this week and I've just received a letter dated February 2025 about a £590 charge plus bailiffs are involved. For context I am in the military and have been away overseas multiple times since April 2024, and have received no email or phone call about this.

The following day, I set up a ULEZ auto pay account so we wouldn't forget to pay for the ULEZ charge. This means that the correspondence for the charge my partner paid went to her account (we have receipts for that).

Please let me know if there's anything I can do or anyone I can talk to. I find it utterly ridiculous I'm being charged £590 for an incorrectly entered letter and that no other efforts have been made to reach out to me other than a letter which was lost.
