Hi, can someone please confirm the PCN has actually been cancelled?

https://1drv.ms/i/c/cc2cb9f1d0ff0f3b/EfppQ80Kk8VOu8ETWrE_6DgBZ9hrNGGNhPX42mq8gFyTUQ?e=d2Pbxc

I logged in to the portal just now as its been a while since I sent my response - and saw that they supposedly sent a letter on the 23rd - most likely using snails so will get here this time next month...if it ever arrives.

Sorry been snowed under.

No need to apologise, I've seen how much you help people and go the full distance so thank you for all of your help and hard work in assisting people with your own time.

Hopefully my PCN will be cancelled, but if it doesn't, I'll be back to ask for assistance with the appeal.

Keep up the excellent work Hippocrates!

Can't wait anymore - here's my response using Deepseek and uploaded signs!

I challenge PCN ZY11856949 on grounds of non-compliant signage per TSRGD 2016:
a) Time plate defect: 'Mor - Fri' is unlawful shorthand (required: 'Mon - Fri').
b) Exemption plate defect: 'SS40' is undefined and fails TSRGD Diagram 663.1B.
c) Contradictory messages on signs ('No through route' vs 'Pedestrian zone') creates ambiguity.
d) Exemption "SS40" is missing from sign on Dagonet Road - creates ambiguity and conflicts with signs on Roundtable Road.

The restriction is therefore unenforceable.

I also cite mitigating circumstances:
- Vehicle breakdown caused gridlock and an immediate hazard.
- The driver acted under duress from honking/reversing buses.

Please provide evidence of:
- TSRGD compliance certification for these signs.
- Camera timestamp calibration records.

Ladies and gents, any advice here before I submit a defence using the bus reversing as evidence that the right turn was not "intentional"?
Or that I was prevented from following adhering to the rules by the action of the bus reversing?

Or anything else...

Thanks

Any warning signage?  I have a technical draft re the PCN.

Hi Hippocrates, would you mind sharing the technical draft please? Do you also advise referring to the bus reversing as a reason for the turn as suggested by Pastmybest?

Also are the signs compliant?

Some help in wording would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Hi Hippocrates,

My wife took the two pictures below:

Notice on Dagonet Road, approx 5-6 metres from the junction with Roundtable Road.
https://1drv.ms/i/c/cc2cb9f1d0ff0f3b/EZyhshzlTU9NmQfsN2w-N-wBhi_AqTuZax-wlfyBsBGhFg?e=7A51UI

These are the two signs on Roundtable Road that you see if you come the opposite way and turn into Dagonet Road (where the car turned right from). It would be difficult to read the text on the far side as it's facing away from traffic coming out of Dagonet Road. The one at the corner of the junction could be read if you stuck your head out of the window (in my opinion!):
https://1drv.ms/i/c/cc2cb9f1d0ff0f3b/Eai5YqRNkelEjD3Mm7UBoDsBnjwJBjTYBFfNzSrImxMflw?e=20f4Mr

The signs have different wordings but both sets show the same time restrictions.

Please let me know if you need anything else.
Thanks for your help with this, really appreciate it!

Hi Hippocrates,

Thanks for your response, my wife looked out for and saw the same notice around 5 metres before the one you can see at the corner of the junction. She will take a picture on the afternoon school run and I'll post it later.

Thank you

Dear FTLA helpers,

My wife received a PCN yesterday from Lewisham with contravention code:
53J Failing to comply with a restriction on vehicles entering a pedestrian zone (Camera enforcement)
Time 9:05am
Restriction 8:15am - 9:15am / 2:30pm - 3:30pm

Details:
On the regular school run, the road leading towards the school (Roundtable Road) was backed up due to a broken down vehicle, school buses were not able to get through and you can see two buses in the video, one reversing towards the car and a bus behind.
There was a lot of commotion and horns being used, my wife got stressed as she didn't know if the bus behind her was horning for her to move or go right. She went right, not realising that there was a restriction on that road at that time. The signs are relatively new (no idea when they were put up), she has made this journey for the last 3 years so wasn't aware or looking out for sign changes (I know not an excuse), but in the moment of stress and confusion she took the turn.

I'm not sure why this is regarded as a "Pedestrian zone" - cars clearly use that road. Time restrictions I can understand.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated!  :)
