Thanks for your support on this. I managed to get down to the car park again and have taken pictures of the signage, hopefully they are legible. Unfortunately I could not get the photos taken in similar conditions. I can't recall if I had problems seeing the signs, although as you say it was dark at the time.
As for when the charges were introduced, this post mentions that it was from 6th June 2024: https://sydenham.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22595

Hi all
Would really appreciate any advice that could be provided on this PCN. The driver entered the car park and paid for a 2 hour parking session starting from 15:39, but did not realise this was cut down to end at 16:30 due to car park closure (https://www.crystalpalaceparktrust.org/pages/car-parking). The driver exited the car park at 16:44 and was issued a PCN for the session. I am the registered keeper of this vehicle.
I have uploaded the notices received.

However, as parking charges have only recently been introduced, the images do not capture the signs unfortunately. I will try to get pictures of any signage if required for better advice.
