Thank you Hippocrates - no worries at all.

Hippocrates suggested looking at the first thread in his profile to be able to successfully appeal this PCN on a technical point. I'm afraid I wasn't able to understand it and after exchanging DMs still wasn't. He said though that not many people understand this technicality. If anyone else can explain how to draft an appeal that could successfully get this PCN revoked, either using this technicality or something else, I'd be grateful.

Hello Hippocrates.

Here's the reverse of the PCN

and here's what appears on their website

Hello,

On Wednesday 12 November I was about to drive through an area of Addiscombe Road which is restricted to buses and trams only between 4 and 7 pm. The time was 4:10 pm and as soon as I got to the restricted area, I realised I couldn't go through at the time and did a U-turn. Unfortunately a camera snapped me and I got a PCN (link below)

https://imgpile.com/p/WxSEEl2#CijndYO

The video accompanying the PCN is only 17 seconds long and doesn't show me doing the U-turn, but you can see me braking (brake lights are visible) and coming to a stop to do the U-turn.

I only slightly entered the restricted area (could I argue de minimis perhaps?) and the whole reason for this restriction is to stop cars entering the main part of Addiscombe road from the tramway - something I didn't do. I really think the council should have provided the whole video of the U-turn - they probably have it.

In addition I went back to the area and took several photos. There are two signs warning of the restricted area before you get to it. However, the first and clearest sign would not have been visible to me, because it's behind the building I started my journey from.

Here is the first sign:

Here is where I started my journey:

Then there is a second sign, but it's raised up and not as clear as the first:

Finally this is the sign at the beginning of the restricted area:

I would be grateful for any advice about this - I hope I can appeal based mainly on the fact that I U-turned when I could and that one sign wasn't visible to me.

However, also worried about the fact that Croydon Council don't even read appeals and automatically reject them.

Hi, just bumping this up. Are there any specific points I can make in an appeal - regarding either technicalities or the visibility of the signs? I'm not sure I want to take it to an adjudicator and risk paying double, but if there are strong grounds I'd consider it. Otherwise I think I'll have to pay the 65 before the 14 days run out.

Is there anything in particular I can say that would give me a chance of getting this cancelled?

Here's the page and yeah most of these reasons are BS and they'll never cancel a penalty for them. The main reason I was there was because of my satnav

Hello,

I received this PCN a couple of days ago for driving down Warrington Road in Croydon. I was directed by a satnav and didn't notice the signs, partly due to the parked cars along Epsom Road, where the turning was.

Someone else posted recently saying they'd done the exact same thing and received the exact same penalty, noting that the signs are hard to see because of the trees: https://www.ftla.uk/civil-penalty-charge-notices-(councils-tfl-and-so-on)/croydon-code-53j-pedestrian-zone-warrington-rd-by-epsom-rd/?topicseen

This is the PCN: https://imgur.com/MSnJ50q

Here is the location from Google maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/oV17A8srcetYB3n88

I also went back and took photos of the signs in the area: https://imgur.com/OIWSebO

I would appreciate any advice or help. It also seems that this restriction was only put in place recently:
