But before they and perhaps this go, ipvaid you are on the wrong track. There are two separate issues in play at this junction:

A no left turn from Wimbledon Parkside into IPR; and
A separate HGV weight and PSV restriction on IGR itself.

The signs are not a pair. Indeed the ban on PSV in the second is odd given that 'local buses' are an exception to the first, which might raise issues regarding the restriction in 1, but IMO this can be examined without the confusion of 2.

Thanks for your reply, what perhaps you expose is sign not being correct as 2nd contradicts the first. Yes, I wasn't driving a bus but it does throw doubt regarding validity of sign.

The fact remains, there is zero proof that the sign was visible on the date and time of the contravention


I received the same on 25/06 and I agree that it's not possible to read the sign with 2-3 line of sentences written underneath it, as a driver we have 2 -3 seconds to read all that on this narrow road in a poor weather. Also, how do they set cost of fine to be £65 / 130, do they really loose that amount of money if one takes the left turn which means council will be loosing lot of money out of contravention hours.

I have also challenged it but keen to hear how it goes in the court for you on 23/07. All the best!
