We don't know your earnings/circumstances but from what I've learned over the years a ban would have been predicted most probably so you may have dodged a bullet. Cash-flow aside, it's only the points that will hobble you for the next 5 years so I'd suggest move on.

so if I went down the road of having the judgement set aside and starting again, is there no possibility that this would be the backstop worst possible case of 6 points?
What about the fact they did not deal with the case within 6 months?

Hi all!
I was stopped by a Policeman in July 2023 for 70 in a 40. I had my licence on me, so showed it to him at the roadside.

I heard nothing since (and assumed I was in the clear as 6 months had passed). However, upon checking my licence online, I found one SP30 for the July date with 6 points and £660.

I have still not received any request for payment of the £660.

There have been no changes of address, both my licence and my vehicle are registered at my correct address that hasn't changed in years.

Advice please...is 6 points and £660 a good result that I should just accept and try to pay, or have I lost out on the chance to plead guilty to receive an 30% discount (I guess that just applies to the fine not the points?)
