i figured id check the horizon website with my ticket number weds or thurs to see if it still exists.

i can pop in monday on the way home from dad, so will take some pics of where the signs should be then. just incase.

ty all again  :)

hello,

ty all for ure your help.

tldr: tesco manager gonna sort it.

i just got back. i went to customer service, explained why i was there, and asked to see a manager. the guy went they dont help with parking tickets. i explained i had been told they do, he again said they dont, i said ok, but id still like to talk to the manager.

the manager came, i explained everything, he was like, ok give me all the info, i will get it cancelled. i gave him a photo copy of the letter they sent me. i started to shown him my disabled badge, and my credit card statement, but he didnt want to see em.i asked if he could confirm in writing, and he said he couldnt, they dont do that, but gave me his name. he said i wouldnt hear from horizon again, they wouldnt say it had been cancelled. it would all just dissapear. kinda a mafia boss vibe.

he then said he would take me out to show me the sign by the entrance that shows the time limit. there was no sign. there used to be one. so then we walked around the side, so he could show me the other sign. it wasnt there. there was a sign like i had taken the photo of, with no limit. then someone else came, and they found a sign at the end of a row, two rows over from the disabled row. it had a time limit.

manager said hes totally on my side, as there are no signs by the store, and he will flag it up. he said the signs had recently been changed.

a cynical person might say it was done by the parking ppl to catch more people out. especially as the manager said theyd started to get lots of people in asking for parking tickets to be cancelled. especially as its the run up to xmas.

anyway, hopefully this is an end to it.

i really appreciate all your help, youre all truly amazing! tysm  :) :) :)

so if the manager agrees to cancel the fine, do they contact horizon
That is what you want them to do, yes...

brilliant, ty.

i understand your points. if i had known i would be that long, or couldnt leave it there atall, i wouldnt have done it. ppl leave there cars there all the time, so i honestly thought it was ok, as i also shopped there.

lesson defo learnt.

hi,

thats brilliant, thankyou. i dont think i can get in today, especially as feeling wiped out from the stress of it, and going up there twice on rest days. i dont think my brain will do well with it, maybe after a nap. if not will try tomorrow on the way to visit dad, or on the way home.

so if the manager agrees to cancel the fine, do they contact horizon, or do i with my proof? or do they contact head office, who contact horizon?

thats excellent info about it being an invoice, and the equalities act. i would never have known.

thankyou so much :)

hi,

thankyou.

i have just taken a screenshot of the tesco transaction from my credit card statement. do i just go in and ask for the manager, and hope they dont ask about where i was? idk what to say. i dont wanna make it even worse.

if this had happened any other year, id be right, lets go to court, but i dont think i have the strength or energy with everything else going on. especially if i get a grumpy judge.

i havent done the popla form yet, as i was waiting for any advice. i already messed up once by appealing without thinking, so dont wanna mess up again.

also to add, the sign at the front is rows and rows away from the disabled area where i parked, so theres no way someone with mobility issues couldve gone looking for it. also, it was in a really dodgy location, on a corner, with no pavement, and i had to walk into traffic and climb into a hedge to get the pic. got some funny looks clambering in with my walking stick in the pouring rain lol

thankyou for all your help  :)

The initial sign you posted asks you to comply with the conditions on that sign.

It doesn't mention a time limit. It also doesn't seem to ask you to refer to other signs for additional conditions.

hi,

no it doesnt have either of those things. i checked both sides of the sign too just incase. thats why i thought the appeal would work, but nope.  :-[

hi, ty for the reply.

yeah, i honestly didnt think last night as i was so upset. i stupidly thought sending a pic of the sign with no time limit would make them go, oops, youre right, you win the appeal.

i dont recall verbatim what i said, but i said i checked the sign by the space, there was nothing about time limit, i displayed my badge the whole time, and heres proof the sign doesnt mention time. i sent them two pics of the sign. the ones i posted here.

theres a photo of me in the space sat behind the driving wheel which they used as evidence, so they can see there was no one else, so i dont think i can say it wasnt me.

i looked for the receipt last night, i didnt think id find it, and couldnt, as annoyingly last week i finally cleaned my bag out, and chucked a mountain of receipts. idk if itd be on my clubcard?

i wasnt in tesco the entire time. id parked in one of the furthest spaces, even tho there were bags of spaces, as i didnt want anyone who was just nipping in to have to walk too far. they could just say i should've moved, which i wouldve done had i known there were a time limit.

the tesco is in england.

turns out there's a sign on the way in, that mentions the time limits, but none of the signs by the bays where i parked do.

thankyou

Hello, I read through how to post, so sorry if i do it wrong.

Yesterday I got a ticket for exceeding the parking time limit at tesco. I was parked in a disabled bay, and my blue badge was on display. I checked the signs previously, as I was worried it would be longer than I intended, and there was no time limit on the signs.so i knew id be ok.

Yesterday I went out, took some pics, there is still no time limit on the signs.

Yesterday I lodged an appeal, i sent them the pics, and explained the above.

they refused my appeal, saying the time limit is clearly stated on all signs, and i breached the rules.

i called cab, who told me i can contact popla and launch an appeal. im so stressed and upset, as i didnt do anything wrong.

i dont want to send them my disabled badge front and back, as its none of their business, and its about a time limit. if it comes to it and it makes the ticket go away i will, but its the principle. they are telling me the photo i sent states a time limit, when it doesnt.

im gonna go later today and see if there are any signs on the way in that state a time limit. even if there are, surely the signs by the disabled bay should say that?

thankyou in advance for any help. theres so much other stress going on, and this was the final straw, ya know?

hopefully i can add attachements, thankyou
