Hi,

I took my family to St Ives last weekend to visit the Tate St Ives Gallery, the beach and harbour. There was hardly any parking anywhere, so after looking around for a while, I found a space to park in Barnoon car park, see below

The space was over a yellow hatched box, which I believed had been overdrawn, as it was clear it was only there to prevent people parking across the pedestrian access way. I ensured I was well clear of this. I then proceeded to pay for 2 hours' parking time.

On my return, the parking attendants had stuck a PCN on my windscreen.

I have till friday 28/08/2026 to pay the reduced fine of £35 or appeal for PCN to be cancelled. I just wanted to get some advice from this forum before appealing.

Given than the pedestrian access was not blocked, and there was no signage prohibiting parking in the space where I was, how do I go about appealing this fine given I paid for the parking time?

Any help given would be much appreciated.

Regards
CI
