Thanks for the detailed explanation — really appreciate it.

Just to check, is all of this process basically just to get the case back to the PCN stage? I was under the impression I could still fight it based on how briefly my rear wheels were in the yellow box — it was less than 8 seconds. Or have I actually lost the right to appeal at this stage?

I’ve just realised my mistake. When I asked ChatGPT, I used the voice function and said Silvertown Tunnel, but it must have misheard me and gave an answer for the Silverthorn Tunnel, which it said was free of charge.

When I went back to visit my mum, I found this letter there. I’ve got no idea where the first one ended up though.

I recently moved house and was completely unaware of the first letter they sent me — this is the first time I’m seeing any reference to this PCN.

I’ve checked the video on the Waltham Forest website, and basically, I was in the yellow box turning right. Just as I was about to exit, traffic ahead stopped, so my rear wheel stayed inside the box for around 8 seconds before I started moving again.

I’m not sure if there’s much point in fighting this one, but I’d really appreciate your thoughts before deciding whether to pay or appeal.

I was using my motorbike for the first time after recently completing my CBT. I asked ChatGPT whether I needed to pay when going through the Silvertown Tunnel, and it said I didn’t. A few weeks later, I received this £90 PCN, which would have only cost £2.50 had I paid.

Really appreciate your advice on what to do next.

Thanks in advance!

Hi

I received  a pcn for above.  Would like some advice if it is worth appealing  as my tyres were barely  in the bus stand . Please  see documents in link below.

 Thanks.

Do you have any mitigation available, and do you have any mitigating evidence? If so there is a strategy of last resort described here.

The other thing with TFL PCNs is that if you make a representation within the discount period, they mess up the response as the letter won't specify whether they're reoffered the discount for 14 days from the date of the rejection, or the date of service of the rejection, so you can appeal on that as well.

They have  sent a notice of rejection ( see google drive link in 1st post)They dont specify where the 14 day period starts  from in page 2 paragraph  5. Im not sure if this is what you were referring to cp8759?

Yes you're right. I have submitted a representation. Lets  see what they say.

No mitigation really .Just genuine  mistake so not sure what i can even put down as grounds for appeal? Also if i appeal and it gets rejected  will i still have opportunity  to pay at discounted rate. I called tfl on 1.12.23 to request dvd on 21.12.23.

Thanks cp8759. I have uploaded the video footgae to my google drive. Our car is visible from 2.20 onwards.

Hi folks,

My wife recieved  a ticket for the above. There was a lot of traffic at the time and she  was behind a bus obscuring  her view. By the time she relaised she was in a yellow box it was too late.

No excuse, but  ive had pcns cancelled based on invalidity  of pcns as advised by members from pepipoo  forum.

I have posted the orginal pcn in google drive link below. Any help would be much appreciated.
