Looks like a 30MPH limit to me, regular streetlights and no speed limit repeater signs to the contrary. I'll bet, if you came from a higher limit, you passed a 30MPH terminal speed limit sign.

Having held a full licence for more than 2 years at the date of the offence means that you would not be liable to have your licence revoked if you get 6 points rather than a ban. Not currently having any points (or having less than 6 current points) means that you will not "tot up" if you get 6 points rather than an outright ban.

Band C starts at 51 in a 30 limit, the previous band being 4-6 points (or a short ban), so there is more chance of getting 6 points rather than a ban at 52 than there is at a higher speed - although that is ultimately for the SJ or bench to decide on the day.

Has nothing to do with getting a ban or not. If you had had your full license for less than 2 years, 6 points would result in your licence being revoked. Not the case here.

@RichardW i had my licence a long time and no points. Would this avoid a ban?
I’m worried to get a ban.

If I go through the legal advice of the insurance would they be helpful?

If you check, I think you’ll find that they will not provide assistance to defend criminal allegations.

Could the “no sign” work in my favour?

Providing the offence was not in Wales and there was a system of street lighting in place, the only requirement for a “30” sign is the point where the limit begins. The streetlights provide the “reminders”. As above, post a GSV of the location.

The speed is too fast to expect a fixed penalty. The next you can expect is a “Single Justice Procedure Notice” informing you of court proceedings. If you plead guilty you can expect to pay a fine of a week’s net income, a surcharge of 40% of that fine and about £95 costs. The guidelines also suggest either a ban of up o 56 days, or six points.

No signs may not be of any help, was it a road with a system of streetlights?

What is the location?

Post up the NIP you have received, and a Google Street view link to the location.

Do you have any existing points on your licence / have you held it for less than 2 years?

Hi,
I have been caught doing 52 in a 30mph road by a mobile van. It was at night on my way to work.
I honestly didn’t know Thais was a 30mph road there is not a sign on the road.
I don’t have any convictions or speeding fines
I have been reading it would’ve considered as band C
In your opinion what would I expect?
If I go through the legal advice of the insurance would they be helpful?
Could the “no sign” work in my favour?
Thanks
