Thank you all for the advice.
This was the help that Tesco could offer:
"Thanks for getting in touch. I'm really sorry to hear you received a parking ticket whilst shopping in store. As the car park is handled by the third party, to resolve this - you must appeal using the details on the cover letter."
Looks like I'll have to wait for the next letter to arrive :(
So the land is leased unless Tesco are lying to you (possible).
Post up the original PCN.

Definitely write to TESCO's manager and get it cancelled. I've had the same with Sainsbury's and got it cancelled. Use ChatGPT to help you with a good email to the appropriate department. Start with the head office/customer services -they should forward your email accordingly.
Best of luck!

If Tesco own the land then they have the power to call their hounds off.
If their store is on leased land then they don't.

Thank you for the advice.
I went into the Tesco store as soon as I got the first letter but they said it was nothing to do with them.
Perhaps I'll try head office.
My wife recently got a fine from Parking eye for overstaying on a visit to Starbucks. I called them and they cancelled it straight away. Thought Tesco could have done the same?
I'll return after my next letter. Thanks again

Ignore Debt Recovery Plus completely, do not write or call or respond in any way.
Ask Tesco to cancel. Worst case is that they will say “no”.
Please read https://www.ftla.uk/private-parking-tickets/read-this-first-private-parking-charges-forum-guide/ and post the original NtK from Horizon.
Otherwise, wait for a Letter of Claim, and report here when you do.

Hi all,
I'm hoping someone will be able to advise please.
I received a parking charge in October for going over the 3 hour parking restriction in a Tesco carpark. Horizon Parking provided details and photographic evidence of the length of stay. I'm the registered keeper but was not the driver on the day.
I passed this on to the person who was driving but they received advice to ignore the letters, which we did.
Horizon have now passed this on to Debt Recovery Plus, who have sent me the letter attached.
So far, there has been no dialogue with either company.
I'd be grateful if someone could offer some advice on how to handle this please? I'm happy to fight the charge as we've been parking in the carpark for over 20 years and we were unaware that the restrictions were recently put in place. Alternatively, if the recommendation is to pay then so be it.
Thanks in advance
