Ok thanks for this. Do you have maybe some knowledge having been on this forum for a while into what goes into them deciding on this
-
Unlike speeding, here seems to be no published consistent criteria for the police to offer a course for red light infringements. It's entirely up to the individual force.
-
Ok thanks and how is the decision for whether it is a red light course vs a 3 points and a fine decided? This is a process that is unclear to me.
For example I have driven for 9 years and this is the first time I have got a letter about this

No to what?
You posted “ is there anything i can do for this to be a red light course”. I responded directly below with “no”. The meaning is entirely obvious.

No to what?
Pretty sure SP was answering your last question, i.e."s there anything i can do for this to be a red light course".

No.

Sorry you can tell i am stresed out and put speeding.. is there anything i can do for this to be a red light course
-
Well it will never end up a speeding course, one of the prerequisites for that is that you actually have to be speeding...
It could well end up with a red light course being offered, however these seem to be often less often. The time into red is low which is in your favour. As far as I know there is no way to realistically influence the decision.

Hi everyone
I am very stressed and need some advice. I drove past a red light for 1.5 seconds and got a letter i.e. notice of intended prosecution from the Camera Processing Services DA15 OBQ
I have been driving for 9 years; no previous points and this is the first time it has happened.
I know the next stage is to confirm I am the driver etc but what can i do to ensure that I am not given 3 points and its a speeding course
