Title: Re: PCN Barnet traffic contravention 50j, Finchley Road into Briardale Gardens

You could win this because of the scaffolding as the sign required by law, at the biting point of the restriction, is virtually invisible. Other reinforcing warning signs may defeat this argument at the tribunal or they may not. The only way to find out is to go there if and probably when barnet reject a representation. Forget about the discount if you want to win.

think I found the source of my confusion, one of the signs is covered up by scaffolding. The sign on the opposite side of the road is visible.

The link I sent you should direct you to the first page of the PCN referenced. If there’s any issue with the link I can reupload. Thank you

I haven't got time to look at a collage of PCNs. Which is which please?

revisited the specific route I took. I was taking a left from the bottom of Pattison road, onto the Finchley Road and then left again. In which case the signage comes in very quickly, which is likely why I missed it. Is this adequate ground for appeal ?

There may be a technical appeal but the expert on these is Hippocrates. Hopefully he'll post soon to say Yeah or Nay. On the contravention itself, it doesn't look good. Was it a satnav-assisted PCN ? Back in the day when radar was getting common in ships, some collisions occured in despite both ships having radar, and were described as "radar-assisted collisions" !

It’s seems very likely that I did miss them unfortunately, I will drive past them next week to double check they’re not currently obscured.
Any technical basis for appeal based on the documents sent?
Thank you again for your reply.

PCN photos show you turned left into Briardale Gardens
So presumably you missed both of these quite prominent signs, yes ? :-

Using satnav by any chance ?

Hi guys, in all honest I’m not exactly sure what I’ve done wrong in this instance. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
