at 151mph you wouldn't notice a pothole unless it was big enough to swallow the car

Don't know the circumstances, road condition, weather etc? Or even the excet model of car?

Many modern super-saloons can reach that easily and are designed to do so.

Plod suggesting hitting a pothole would be a problem is more about the state of the roads!
