Video shows you driving directly towards the signs with no hesitation at all. I have to say refuting the PCN will prove difficult. If you had been turning left into the restriction it would be much stronger. The signs are place rather too high up, so with the weather, I'd concentrate on sign height in combination with awful weather causing you you concentrate on the road ahead of you.

Hello,
Vehicle accidentally drove through a pedestrian zone, which, according to other forum posts, was only recently implemented in March. Since the signage is new, it can't be found on Google Maps but I have included the location regardless (https://maps.app.goo.gl/de1JSkz8doNJmcjv5). The sign at the entrance is positioned quite high and may not be immediately visible to drivers. On this occasion, it was also raining, which further affected visibility.
As soon as the driver realised their mistake, they turned the car around at the roundabout ahead, as this was the safest place to complete the manoeuvre. Unfortunately, this is not shown in the footage, but by that point, the contravention had already occurred. The driver does not live locally, and this is the first PCN they have received for this situation.
I can see that others on this forum have experienced the same issue, but I haven’t been able to find any clear outcomes. I understand it’s close to Christmas, but I would really appreciate a response as soon as possible, and would like to avoid having to pay the full £160 if possible.
Thank you.
