Your not on a winner, I'm afraid, but submit reps anyway, and base them on what you have told us here. YOu never know, you may get lucky.

I have also just realised that I think I only have until the end of today to appeal or pay the fine so I may attempt an appeal myself by around 5pm today if nobody is able to reply in time. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully this works : https://imgpile.com/p/SXMXpho

If it helps at all, I had broken down earlier in the day so this wasn't my usual car but im not sure that has any impact on my case!

Sorry, need more info, like the PCN all sides, only name and address redacted. So read this and update your thread accordingly:-
https://www.ftla.uk/civil-penalty-charge-notices-(councils-tfl-and-so-on)/read-this-first-before-posting-your-case!-this-section-is-for-council-tfl-dartme/

From what you've said so far, your only appeal case at the moment is based on mitigation. However, see what the others say.
Title: A1026 Silvertown Tunnel (Newham)

Hi guys,

I have received a PCN for the blackwall/silvertown tunnel and am hoping to get some help to appeal correctly.

I used to live near to the tunnel and used it pretty much daily. Having moved out of london 5 years ago, I sometimes return to visit friends and on this day, I had used the tunnel when coming back from visiting a friend. I hadn't realised the new charges were active and thought it was going to become active in the middle of next year, so when I drove through, I was totally on autopilot.

I am more than happy to pay the charge but I am struggling to find the motivation to pay a £90 charge for the error.

Any advice on how I should word my appeal would be gratefully received!

Many thanks
