I wouldn't worry too much. this is a small firm and whilst they may try to litigate, they use DCB Legal to issue their claims and any claim issued by DCB Legal is eventually discontinued, if not struck out first, if defended.

Thanks appreciate it

So specifically cite the link you referenced before. And say about the £20?

Would you attach the RingGo receipt or not?

Thanks so much again!

Up to you.

The parking company very likely does not get the money you paid, which went to the land owner, in return for which it gets to keep all the money it extracts for people who break its rules.

So they won’t be interested in your argument.

Your mistake cost them money in contacting you, but they are likely to accept £20 as I already stated. Otherwise you can pay nothing and see what happens. Maybe they’re one of the companies that doesn’t go as far as taking you to court, or maybe they’ll accept your appeal above?

Sorry, always getting a bit paranoid with these things.

“I am appealing this charge as the registered keeper of the vehicle.

Attached is a VAT receipt for payment at the Burton Road car park completed using the RingGO app. This payment was for £5.20 to cover all day parking at the Burton Road Car Park.  However, the RingGo app defaulted to a the registration of a different car previously owned by the driver.

Therefore I appeal this charge as it represents a keying error and you have received appropriate payment for parking to cover the stated vehicle and its time of stay.

Please let me know if you require further documents to evidence payment of the parking.

Thanks”

Planned to attach RingGo VAT Receipt, which doesn’t name anyone, but does include a customer ID which could be traceable.

Thanks
Would the above suffice?

Personally, I’d reply as the registered keeper and state that the driver is prepared to pay the reduced rate due to a keying error per the referenced document, and see what they come back with. No need to identify the driver or anything else. If they come back and you’re happy to pay £20, end of story. If not, then report back here.

Thanks

Any advice on how best to respond? Should keep provider full evidence at this point?

Thanks

Per https://www.britishparking.co.uk/write/Documents/AOS/NEW%20Redesigned%20Documents/sectorsingleCodeofPractice.pdf you could appeal on the basis of a “keying error” (6.3 & F.3) and agree to pay the reduced charge (£20?) as a result.

Your mistake cost them something after all.

Registered keeper received PCN from good value parking dated 8th October for parking on 6th October at burton Road, Lichfield

Payment was made for all day parking of the registered vehicles car on Ring Go app.

Payment had defaulted on app to vehicle reg of a car no longer owned by registered keeper rather than the registration of the vehicle that has received the PCN.

Attached below PCN and parking charges.

Any advice appreciated

Thanks
