When checking the PCN on their website when I first received the PCN back in 2019 ......

So, you were served with the PCN(which was addressed to your V5C address at that time); you knew that you did not reside at that address; you neither updated your V5C nor gave the creditor your correct address, you just 'left it'.

..is what I read into your first post.

If the vehicle was registered at a 'different address' and you didn't service that address (i.e check the mail), small wonder you've not heard anything! How would MET have known at the time where you were?

As above, they'll use a tracing agency to find an address and appear to have succeeded.

You mention a few issues relating to addresses etc. That the claim form went to a different address than the vehicle was registered to does not provide a defence... They've probably done a trace to find your current address after not receiving any responses.

Was the vehicle registered to you at the time of the alleged parking event?

If you haven't already, the first thing you need to do is acknowledge the claim. If you haven't done this before there's a useful guide on the MSE Website here - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/64350585/#Comment_64350585 (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/64350585/#Comment_64350585)

Then you can start preparing your defence. To help you with this we'll need more information. As a starting point:

Title: MET Parking Services....PCN- AB200317

Hello all.

I have received a court claim form for a PCN back in 2019 that never existed or got cancelled without my knowledge.

When checking the PCN on their website when I first received the PCN back in 2019 there were no details shown and still now there are no details shown as I checked again upon receiving the claim form so I left it and did not receive any correspondence from MET Parking Services since until recently dated 23rd October 2023 I get a court claim form.

The vehicle in question was registered at a different address and the mail has arrived at another address. The address on the court form is different to the address where the vehicle was registered to.

Can anybody advise on how to defend this and can the claimant (MET Parking Services) still claim even though the vehicle was registered at a different address to what it says on the court form?

Any help/advice please. Thanks in advance. x
