Ah my mistake, I thought all details counted.

I renewed my permit about 2 hours after the PCN was issues. I'll angle for a discretionary appeal then. Thanks very much for the advice folks.

on colour of car and make. I used to know all the cars, but it's beyond me now with all these Chinese makes running around.

Vehicle make or colour are not mandatory items to get right on PCNs.

Have you renewed the permit - if it's continuing from expiry you have a good shout at asking for discretion but Newham are not forgiving.

Hi folks, thanks for taking the time to read this.

So the PCN has the contravention correct - code 19 is "Parked in a residents’ or shared use parking place or zone either displaying an invalid permit or voucher or pay and display ticket, or after the expiry of paid for time – Contravention Code 19". I'm a resident, my permit expired a week ago, I changed email addresses, didn't get the renewal notice, hands up.

However the PCN itself is issued incorrectly - "Vehicle make & colour" is specified as "Lexus Black" rather than "Tesla Black".

Could someone help with the wording of the appeal please, if that's the route to take? I remember from a post on Pepipoo its rather particular to get right.

Thanks very much
