It's outrageous, but legal, I'm afraid. They are venal, rapacious and ruthless, but until the legislation and regulations are changed, you'll just have to suck it up. Put in reps, though, to make them do at least some work for their money.

Hi all
An update on this one - I sent in an appeal and received the below rejection.

Apologies but I can't seem to find the copy of the appeal I entered. However it was broadly on the grounds of:
- Inappropriate signage (there is a sign but it's really small and I would contest that you wouldn't see it until it's too late and you're already stopped.
- Attempted to stop in the loading bay next to the stop but it was blocked so stopped as close as poss.
- Was only stationary for NINE SECONDS (still think it is outrageous to issue an EIGHTY / ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY pound fine for a 9 second stop).
- No traffic or buses were impeded by my 9 second stop.
Any view of whether to give up on this one? As outrageous as I think it is, from the previous messages it sounds like a lost cause.
Thanks in advance!

Would never want to be branded a member of The Mugged Club... so will definitely put in a representation.
In my experience it's a blanket no when Redbridge are involved though, even for a parking PCN on my own road when the permit was partially visible and my 7 months pregnant wife was trying to load the car...the boot was open!!
Whole PCN is here for completeness:

Thanks

Or at the Tribunal they do not provide a witness statement re the camera approval when put to strict proof.
I would put in a representation or your membership of The Mugged Club will be automatically approved.

The bus stop clearway line is well marked and it's a fairly small stop so the sign is nearby, but they would have to evidence it at the tribunal.
It's a strictly no stopping contravention and many bus stops in London are monitored by CCTV.
They can use discretion but very unlikely without compelling mitigation.
Unless there is faulty PCN/website the discount is probably best.

Your chance may just be that they don't provide a picture of the sign being present at the bus stop. It's down to them to provide all the evidence. I've won a case for a similar thing at Barking.

For completeness pl post the rest of the PCN.

Thanks - Appreciate the quick response. Watching the video makes me even more furious as it shows the car stationary for literally 10 seconds, there is no other traffic and not a bus in sight. The gall of them to apply an £80 fine for an honest mistake that had absolutely no impact to anybody is outrageous.
Do you think just suck it up and pay the fine? The one point I was going to make is that the sign is so small that you wouldn't actually notice it until you had already stopped.

The contravention is bang to rights so any chance lies in paperwork/website issues.

Hi there
I received a PCN from Redbridge for stopping in a bus stop. I’m still absolutely gobsmacked to be given an £80/£160 fine for stopping for literally 20 seconds (only enough time for my wife who was waiting there to jump in).
Link to PCN is: https://imgur.com/cW26w8N
Hopefully the link works as first time using imgur.
Message preview seemed to be hiding the link, it is …imgur.com/cW26w8N.
I saw a previous post for the same issue on a bus stop further down the street which suggested tut here are a number of options to challenge this but the person involved just paid it so I don’t think it was resolved.
Google maps location of this stop is:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/UGj3i25HBocMrYdr9?g_st=ipc
From looking at this it looks like there is a (very small) sign which I didn’t see at the time.
Any advice over contesting this would be greatly appreciated!
