Simply use the defence and follow the instructions in the thread you linked to.

You could contact Smart and ask for all the info (PPN) they hold in relation to this issue. Do not telephone them.
Contact their date officer, provide a copy of a utility bill suitably redacted as proof of name and address.
Have you moved address since the incident?

Smart PCNs are often issued too late to hold the registered keeper liable,
Back in 2022 they weren't even attempting to comply with PoFA

Smart PCNs are often issued too late to hold the registered keeper liable, but I note you no longer have a PCN, if you ever did. Worth bearing in mind in case you get a copy later.

The usual drivel in the POC by DCB, so the usual defence as you have linked, should be OK - read it first to make sure it makes sense / is relevant to your case. b789 is away for a few days, but may comment on this when he gets back, but as you have done AOS you have a while to submit defence.

Hi,
Another one... I have received a claim by Smart Parking (DCB legal). It is related to contravention from 19/03/2022 and have no idea why and who was driving a car. Apparently the driver didn't pay enough/extended stay base on the letter. Don't recall I've received any PCNs on that or someone from household bin them as store and parking doesn't exist anymore at this location.
Following some other threads, just applied for AoS already, so I've got a bit more time to defend it.
Please advise or provide some defence if I should use specific one to this case (could see similar one here (https://www.ftla.uk/private-parking-tickets/smart-parking-ccj-claim-insufficient-paid-time-south-road-brean-4-years-ago/msg87276/#msg87276))
