In my appeal I have effectively said i was driving.
Silly move but not necessarily fatal to any claim. Which unregulated parking firm?
In most cases, a county court claim is issued but it is very rare that one goes all the way to a hearing. In the vast majority of cases, the claim is either struck out or discontinued. Of the very few that do make it as far as a hearing, most are won.
They rely on you being low-hanging fruit on the gullible tree who will eventually pay up out of ignorance and fear. Once we have some more detail, we can advise further.

I am away so will add the pcn on my return.

Well you could pay if course, but that is not advocated here. The other option is to wait it out for a Letter of Claim and then court claim, which you can defend with help from here.
Please show us the PCN and your appeal. Did you identify the driver?

My issue in brief.
I parked in a private car park associated with an attraction.
I paid by ring go, made a mistake by one digit on the ringo codes.
The car park I paid was 100 yards away and run by the same operator charging the same fees.
They pcn'd me and rejected my appeal as have popla. In short it's up to the motorist to comply in full.
So now I pay, or I guess wait to be taken to court.
It seems to me a fair person would take into account: -
My intention to pay, that I actually paid, I paid the company who owned the carpark, albeit against a wrong reference number.
In that context a fine of £100 is unreasonable.
Firm now asking for their £100 or threatening debt collection.
Any views on what to do next and my chances, obviously do not want to face more legal costs
Thanks
