I left the bay I was parked in, which was directly outside AL-AZIZ hair dressers shop, drove a little further up Church Road, carried out a u-turn & drove back down Church Road, before turning right onto Second Avenue.

OK, so we can see this T-junction on Street View, but you haven't told us what you did to get the PCN. I see a street with No Entry signs, and the other street has a direction sign on a lamppost, indicating drivers emerging from that street must turn right as it is a one-way street. This immediately gives me doubts about whether the signing is adequate, but looking around shows a direction sign as one approaches the T-junction: -

Received a PCN from Newham Council for contravention 32d - Failing to proceed in the direction shown by the arrow on a blue sign.
Attended a funeral reception & on leaving the venue, didn’t realise that the roads I was travelling on are subject to a one way system.
What I want to know is whether there is any defence I can use to challenge the PCN at tribunal?
