Title: Re: Hackney, 2x Code 52m Prohibition of Motor Vehicles, Weymouth Terrace/Dunloe Street
Post by: John U.K. on October 23, 2025, 02:43:12 pm
Hi OP, wondering what feedback or luck you had with the council on this (if any)?

I just got a PCN for the same junction, although I was just crossing over the street from left to right.. I know Hackney are notorious so not sure if I'm going to have any luck here!

The OP has not been back since original posting, tho you could try a Private Message or e-mail.

Best you have a read of

Unless Hippo has anything on PCN/website issues I'd say pay the first and ask for discretion on the second.

Posting on behalf of my partner who has received the 2x code 52m's below at the same location within 7 minutes of each other. Before reading on, he has admitted being completely stupid and if it were just one we would just be paying up but paying two is painful so looking to see if there are any grounds to appeal.

Basically, he was distracted trying to find a parking space close to our friend's place.

The first PCN triggered when he was driving south on Weymouth Terrace. He does recall avoiding the Lime bikes on the corner as he was turning left onto Dunloe Street which added to his distraction. We've looked on Google Street View and two of the three signs appear slightly angled away from what would have been his viewing angle.

The second PCN triggered 7 minutes later when he looped around having not found parking on adjacent streets. Travelling north on Weymouth Terrace he passed through the prohibition again before turning left onto Dunloe Street where he parked the car.

Any help and advice much appreciated.
