Title: Re: Fake PCNs

But from what I've read there's a lot of those scams going on.
The other QR Code based parking scam I'm aware of is fraudsters sticking dodgy QR codes onto parking machines. People think they're making a legitimate payment by phone, but are instead diverted to the scammer's own website. Then to add insult to injury, they end up with a PCN because they haven't paid for their parking (or at least haven't paid the right entity!).

I don't know and don't really want to know what a QR code is or how it works. I can't be bothered to download anything that needs one. But from what I've read there's a lot of those scams going on.
Title: Fake PCNs

This article popped up on my news feed and as I don't remember seeing it mentioned elsewhere on FTLA just posting for information (apologies if I missed it here).

Seems there's been a growing number of fake PCNs put on cars purporting to be both Council and Private, inviting you to click a QR code to pay. Usual scam, they want to steal your card information and ID details.

One giveaway is that reportedly they don't give information about rights of appeal to POPLA/IAS. And presumably ignoring them can't result in an NtK.
