If it was your car and you caused or permitted him to drive without insurance then you are (absent a defence) guilty of a similar offence. It really ought to say "caused" or "permitted" etc. but ultimately that it what you could be prosecuted for.

Been stopped by police. 06.06
My partner was driving with no Insurance. I was sitting nex to him and car had insurance only on my name.
After around two weeks he got his letter - 6 points 300£. He paid.
After 3 months 19.09 , received the same letter but this time on my name.
Offence- Use a motor wehicle on a road without third party insurance. ( I had insurance)
And letter says that im getting the same penalty 6 points 300£
Is that right?! Because its very confusing.
Hopefully someone can help.
Thanks.
