It's an 08 TDV-something, Vogue with TV screens in the back seat, a satnav that doesn't work, had done over 320,000km and has been a lot more reliable than my previous 52 reg Range Rover that I got from new!
It's a nice car and suits me for getting around. I need a high car as I've got a lot of back problems and bone wasting. I find it difficult to get into small cars that are low down. It's paid for and I don't really want to spend a fortune on another car just to get to and from work which I need to do to pay for a car to get to and from work..At my age and pension I couldn't afford a new or newer car.

a Range Rover 3.8TD
Is this one of the newer "desirable" models that keep getting nicked? Or an older workhorse?
My insurance renewal was a couple of hundred more this year, rang the insurance company and magically they got it down, still a little more than last year but not much.

Comparison sites aren't always finding the cheapest as I've discovered again.
I've found that too, swiftcover gives me a far cheaper price than any of the comparison sites.

I've read several insurers have quoted the cost of EV fires has increased prices. When I had a no-fault crash a couple of years ago (my car was parked, one of my employer's buses backed into it) I was given a Range Rover Velar, the most awful car I've driven, for over 6 weeks! Waiting for spares for mine and arguing as to whether or not to write it off.
Comparison sites aren't always finding the cheapest as I've discovered again. L&V are half the price of esure AND I get DOC, commuting, fully comp outside the UK. L&V are also cheaper than last year's esure renewal price!

The large rise is no surprise though why is a different matter.
It seems to be across the board.
Various sources give different reasons... even down to higher cost for EVs and more automation which costs more.
Personally given the number of repair stories I have seen regarding long long waits for spares and extended use of hire cars while waiting, I reckon that has a lot to do with it.
Try Compare the Market and see if similar?
Generally I go through the comparison sites and then phone the chosen supplier anyway.... there usually is a contact number if you click on more details... phone call can get a little more off.
If you cannot get to quotes, delete the added driver, chose a quote or two and make the phone calls, you can add the driver then.
For reference, I checked on one of my cars in July...prices coming out about the same as last year.
Not due till end Sept but thought I'd check.
Renewal letter comes through beginning of Sept.... over 25% increase... no claims, convictions to report, same details as last year.
Onto comparison sites, struggling to beat that and my present supplier was over £100 more then their renewal.
Cue for phone calls and I managed to get present insurer to drop their renewal cost a few points but still eye watering compared to last year.

Not sure if I've got an ad blocker. I've just tried another site, LV, very easy to use and seem to have the cover I need with more ad-ons for less than my current price with esure. £604 fully comp, including commuting/business use, drive any other car, European cover. Esure wanted about £1100!! No claims, 1 SP30. It goes to show you've got to shop around.
Like last year, esure nearly doubled the price, I went on MSE and got it quite a bit cheaper. MSE asked why I wasn't renewing with them, I told them I'd got it cheaper with MSE. Who with? Esure. They matched the MSE price.
Interesting that Saga, who profess to get everything cheaper for older people, come in at over £3400 for the same car, a Range Rover 3.8TD with over 330,000km on the clock!

If you've got ad/cookie blockers running they can sometimes cause issues with webforms. Although I recently used the MSE Car Insurance quote site without issue.

I've been with esure insurance for over 5 years, no claims, 1 SP30 in 2021, cost of renewal is up by almost double since last year. I'm trying to get quote on MSE and have filled in all the boxes but their system gets stuck and going back to the additional driver box. All details filled in correctly but no luck.
Anyone got any ideas how to fix this or had this problem? There's no obvious phone number to call for help or to explain the problem to. Like most others, the "help" system doesn't give an option for this sort of problem.
Like everything, and I mean everything, computerised I ever use never works as intended.
