Read this, and when the PCN arrives update your thread accordingly. On the face of it you would seem to have a good case, but we must see the PCN and the video, (the sole evidence), before giving advice.
Title: Stopped in box junction due to car pulling out of side road
Post by: ewicc on July 26, 2025, 10:39:42 pm
Hi all,

I was forced/had to stop in a box junction as a car from the side road pulled out at speed, to take the space i was driving into. I was driving on the main road, i stopped and did not enter box junction as there was no space in front.. when space opened up/the way was clear i proceeded to move forward but then a car from the side road pulled out at speed ignoring the give way line/sign, crossing 2 lanes to get into the 3rd lane and entered that space so I was forced stop in the box junction for about 10-20 secs.
I have attached a rough image. I was the red box/arrow (on the main road - carterhatch lane) and the blue signifies the car that pulled out from the side road (great cambridge road). If and when I get a penalty notice will I have ground to appeal it?
Thanks in advance
