Right now there is nothing more you can do about this. You can safely ignore all debt recovery letters. Debt collectors are powerless to do anything except to try and persuade the low-hanging fruit on the gullible tree to pay up out of ignorance and fear.

Never, ever, EVER, enter into communication with a useless debt collector. They are not a party to the contract allegedly breached by the driver and you must never interact with these bottom-dwelling firms.

For now, we would need to see the Notice to Keeper (NtK) you received. Only redact your personal details, the PCN number and your VRM. Leave everything else visible, especially all dates and times.

Eventually you are going to receive a Letter of Claim (LoC). Come back when you receive that and we can advise on how to respond. If you follow the advice given here, you won't be paying a penny to UKPS.

Who is "they"? You have bumbled on about a situation without any definitive information on location, what the alleged contravention actually is supposed to be. Which unregulated private parking firm? What are the dates of the alleged contravention and the date that the Notice was issued? Are "they" relying on PoFA 2012 to hold the known Keeper liable for the action of the unknown driver?

Perhaps you should have a read of a few threads to get the gist of how to request assistance.

The debt collection agencies are dogs without teeth, ignore their letters, it's not their debt. Yhey MAY take legal action but I doubt very much that they will.

Title: urgent help needed predatory parking company, crazy story

started in october last year car entered a store there was parking left and right, parked on the left. there was a small sign if going into the store park only on the right, so pcn was received. the pcn that came in was for the upgraded fee of £100, they never sent the original fee of £60 letter to this day.

appeal was made about the fact that original fee letter was never sent and they disregarded that in the appeal reply saying that the parking charge had been issued correctly, making no reference to the basis of the appeal.

charge was passed onto debt agency, they then randomly emailed saying that they would offer the chance to pay the original £60 fee but i would have to send them the letter i received from the debt collection agent. it was sent to them and they did not reply not allowing the original fee that they were offering to be paid.

it was then passed onto a different debt agency you sent an email for a letter of claim. the email was replied to within the given timeframe mentioning that the parking company sent emails offering the original fee but then did not reply afterwards.

this was then again ignored by the new debt agency in their reply saying that the charge was issued in line with industry standards. the email that was sent to them was about something else which they just completely disregarded in their response. they have now given a deadline until sunday to pay £170 threatening legal proceedings otherwise.
