Thank you.
What about Highway Code Rule 201
Do not reverse from a side road into a main road. When using a driveway, reverse in and drive out if you can.

I've been told off for saying people did something daft but frankly this is a daft manoeuvre. You should drive in head on and reverse carefully out.

But I don't think it really qualifies as a bus lane contravention as it's sort of the reverse of what you'd have to to exit backwards and you could take your chances at the tribunal.

The discount is on the table.

Title: Bus Lane Ilford, Redbridge borough Representation rejected

Hey all. Thank you for doing this voluntary.
I have won against private parking firm twice, but I don't want these 2 wins to get to my head.

Here is my situation:
29/03/205 evening.

At Ilford. There is a property to the left off the Bus Lane. In order to get to it, I need to go through bus lane and enter the property. But the problem is, property has not way to change position of the car. Which means if I was to exit the property, I would have to do so in reverse, which is dangerous due to on going traffic on the road.

So to make things easy and safe, I drove into bus lane and moved up further, mounted the kerb. Put on hazard lights and slowly reversing, I wanted to reverse into the property bay. So that when exiting, I can clearly see the traffic driving forward. Mind you, there are pedestrians walking around as well. So that road is not good for parking car.

Council said I was driving on bus lane. I appealed and explained the situation, it was rejected. The letter said I should wait for Notice to Owner letter where I can appeal via tribunal.

I waited over a month and never got a letter, just few days ago I noticed they sent an updated letter saying the amount of £65 has gone up to £130!.and the limit days to appeal just passed, that letter was sent May, I sent another long letter justifying my actions. I just got a letter of rejection today.

So now I am thinking if I should bother appealing to Tribunal or just pay, the letter sent a gesture of goodwill that they reduced it to £65, which I know is bullcrap because obviously the council just wants money!

I don't know if tribunal will be on my side. Or be on council side.
Do you think I stand a good chance? Does my action violate the bus lane?
