A major keying error? I thought you'd just selected the wrong VRM.
-
There's no need to hide any details on a wndcreen PCN.
Assuming you don't want us to see the council's pics or location which may possibly give some other info I would make a polite ask for discretion for a first time honest mistake that has no loss to the council, enclosing the receipt.
You can also point out that the parking charge was paid, whereas the PCN says it wasn't.
Thank you - I will make an appeal on this basis. Do you think it might also be worth saying that it was a major keying error, as someone told me elsewhere?

Post the PCN.
Hi,
I have updated the details in the post now. Thanks for letting me know.

Received a PCN today 11/06/2025 - as stated above, I paid for parking and have receipts to prove, however, I paid under the wrong reg as I recently changed car.
I paid via an app (PayByPhone) in Leeds. As soon as I typed in the streetcode, I paid using my saved details, I was unaware that I had done so with my old vehicle. I forgot to change the reg to my new one.
What are my options?
I will copy what the PCN says on the front as it will be easier than redacting personal details. I have attached a copy of the reverse.
The PCN reads:
Civil enforcement officer had reason to believe that the following contravention had occurred and that a Penalty Charge is now payable. 11 parked without payment of the parking charge.
A penalty charge of £50 is now payable and must be paid not later than the last day of the period of 28 days beginning with the date on which this PCN was served.
The penalty charge will be reduced by a discount of £25.00 if it is paid not later than the last day of the period of 14 days beginning with the date on which this PCN was served.
