Do not make any contact with DCBL. You are in a very strong position and by contacting a powerless debt collector, you are likely going to waste the best defence you have.
DCBL are powerless except to try and make the low-hanging fruit on the gullible tree pay up out of ignorance and fear. Your attempt to contact them is a classic example of this ploy working.
Before you get a further advice, as already requested above, what do you mean by “Scotland”? Are you a Scottish resident? Did these alleged contraventions occur in Scotland?
Only the ignorant and foolish pay these charges, especially if there is a “Scottish” element to it.

By what means did you contact them and what, exactly, did you say? Did you tell them who was driving/who parked the car on the material occasions?

I received a letter from DCBL regarding multiple unpaid parking charges on 28/6/25 with the date on the letter marked as 16/6/25. I was told that I had 14 days from the date of the letter to make payment or contact the company with the ultimatum that legal action would be recommended against me. Thus, I only had 2 days to do so.
The parking charges were linked to my old car's registration number which was registered to my previous address of which I am no longer a resident. As a result, this is the first contact I have been aware of. I am now facing £2550 worth of charges (15 tickets where they added a £70 fee on) of which would not have added up if I had known about the first one as I would have paid it. I will own to being naive as I had been told that the car park had an hour free rule. This is my fault for not checking the signage. However, as I said, had I known about the first parking charge, I would have paid it and not made the same mistake.
I am now extremely unsure of what to do as I have contacted them to explain the situation but have been told by others that I should ignore it. I cannot afford it and would own up to it had I blatantly ignored the original letters, however this is not the case. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
