If the signage and TRO were in order when you were caught, you have fewer legs to stand on than Long John Silver as regards a recent change in speed limit.
Agreed, the original poster seems to be suggesting that you could avoid prosecution because of a recent change, wheras I couldn’t avoid prosecution when I’d never driven along the road before. As long as the signs are adequately compliant, the same rules apply to everyone.

Nothing you've said suggests that you have. You could check that the Traffic Regulation Order is correct.
I don't remember seeing any signage leading up to the sign before the camera, but have just started seeing them in the last few days.
Do you suspect that the signage was not present on the day of the offence?

I won't be offered a course because it hasn't been 3 years since my last one. Just wanted to know if I have any legs to stand on in regards to recent speed limit changes.

Whether it was a genuine mistake is neither here nor there.
You should be offered a course for that speed, provided the offence did not occur in Scotland (where they are not offered) and you have not done one in the last three years (the offence dates being used to calculate that period).

We do not have a magic wand.
What you can and cannot remember is about as relevant as how much you could do without any more points.

Hi all,
Last year I received 3 points on my license for speeding and have now received NIP for another offence, I was driving down a road which is my usual route local to me, this road had a 30mph restriction with a speed camera and I have just noticed it has recently changed to a 20mph restriction (when I received the letter on 13th May).
After a quick internet search I can see it was changed to 20mph on the 31st of March. I don't remember seeing any signage leading up to the sign before the camera, but have just started seeing them in the last few days. I drive for a living so the last thing I need is more points on my license. Please can you offer any help, this was an honest mistake, I did not notice the limit had been changed to 20mph nor did I see any flash to know that I had gone over the limit.
