Seems likely order is ok.

The thing with converting a 40mph to 30mph limit (where there is an existing system of street lighting) then they simply have to remove the 40mph signs.

However, one would have past a terminal sign entering the limit.  (Or if starting within it then the street lights make it a restricted road of 30mph anyway in the absence of signs to the contrary)

I will have to visit the road again to check if 40 mph is still in place but I found something on TFL

This road has always been 40 miles, but they have recently changed it to 30 miles.
Were the 40mph signs still there?  Has the relevant traffic order been amended?

Received the alleged offence letter for speeding on the Great West Road.

This road has always been 40 miles, but they have recently changed it to 30 miles.

Any way could this be challenged?
