Hi,

Just to let you know... having submitted representations, the PCN has now been cancelled.

Thank you for your assistance.

"The alleged contravention did not occur" (with your car, so the PCN is void). There is nothing to stop them serving a PCN to the correct car.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

Which grounds for representation would be best to use:
'The alleged contravention did not occur.'
or
'Any other compelling reason'

or does it not matter in this case.

Thanks
Kaz

Yes you are someone we advise people who get a PCN with the wrong VRM to take care of and tell the authority to stop them issuing an NTO to the wrong person.

Do the reps online and enclose a picture of your car showing it isn't the one in their evidence.

Hi,

I've received a 'Notice To Owner' concerning a PCN for an alleged parking contravention in Hackney (see photos below).  Somewhat surprising as I've not driven in London for many years, and certainly have not had a PCN in Hackney.

Fearing a case of cloning I went online to check the details of the PCN.  Fortunately it's a simple case of the CEO making a typo in the vehicle registration number.  The PCN photos show a silver Mazda 5 with reg. ending AAZ, whereas my car is a blue Mazda 6 with reg. ending AAJ.

I've searched the forum for similar cases, but could only find threads for drivers who have a PCN with a typo, rather than being the owner of the vehicle incorrectly referenced.

Obviously I will be making representations to let them know they have the wrong reg. no., but I wanted to check here that I'm using the correct grounds, and to see if anyone has any tips for the content of the representations.  I want to avoid making a mistake, and turning a simple issue into a more complex problem.

Am I correct in thinking I should use 'The alleged contravention did not occur.' grounds, or does it come under the 'Any other compelling reason' option?  Also, I assume it is better to make representations via their portal, rather than by post?

Thanks
Kaz
