Yes this is the exact location - https://maps.app.goo.gl/DzbZFPqMoVMpgGB8A

But as the previous poster has said, it's a nice little money maker stitching people up on a Sunday afternoon. I wasn't aware DYLs had any affect on verges, a costly lesson I guess.
So for this one I just have to pay sooner rather than later

thanks all
If you post-up all sides of the PCN we'll check it for fatal errors of content that could win an appeal, but you have to take them to the Traffic Penalties Tribunal with the full PCN penalty in play.

It may be worthwhile submitting informal representations saying you were not aware of the DYL restriction applying off the carriageway, and ask for forgiveness, but it's a long shot, because councils now see PCN penalties as a "nice little earner" for them.

This is a very well-known honey-trap for the council near where I live, who have a P&D car park just round the corner.  There are, however, some gaps in the DYLs which allow parking, but at weekends or holidays, the location is a very popular country park with not enough parking for everybody: -

The DYLs have been in place for quite some time now, GSV view of 2009 showing them. This thread is basically due to possibly a new motorist not being totally familiar with what yellow lines mean. We do see this quite a lot on this forum, but mostly in London.

Here?

Could you please post a more accurate GSV link?

Google have only been along in 2021 and 2009, but it appears that on both occasions the DYLs were widely ignored, which may give rise to a defence of 'legitimate expectation'.

Have you regularly parked here in the past without incurring a PCN?

Please also as requested post up both sides of the unredacted PCN (if it be postal PCN - we don't know - then redact yr name & address).

the PCN number is GA62525835 and all it says is "Parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours"

the location is Brereton Heath Lane, Brereton

do you need anything else? thanks

Yellow lines control footways and verges up to road (not carriageway) boundaries so this looks to be a contravention but we'd need to see the PCN and location. There may be a cause of legitimate expectation.

The blue car in the photo has been given a £70 penalty charge notice
Contravention Code 01
Parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours

Is this right if I wasn't even parked on the highway?
