Hi all, my first post on here.
I was fined by Islington council for going through a road I wasn't supposed to go through. This occured on 02/11/2024. I appealed on 12/11/2024 and received a email stating the PCN will be on hold and they will reply to me within 56 days. On 19/02/2025 I received a charge certificate stating it has now gone up to £195. If they had rejected the appeal I would have paid for the original sum, but I received no correspondence and now its gone up to £195.
In short, im looking for advice on how I can reduce it to what it initially was as they claim:
We are now now sending you this charge certificate because:
- you did not respond to the penalty charge notice or
- you wrote to us but we did not accept your reasons for not paying the penalty charge notice or
- you appealed to the adjudicator and your appeal has been rejected and the penalty charge needs to be paid.
But of course I received no communication since my initial appeal.
Thank you
