Ah, thanks for your analysis. Just on your point about pick up/drop off on double yellows. Is this permitted? I always assumed you cannot stop on double yellows to pick up/drop off.
Oh dear ! Yes, you can stop on double or single yellow lines to board/alight passengers, and this exemption has been in place since their introduction. So remember for the future.

Their letter says they've paid. It and its Third Part Authorisation are nonsense because you cannot appeal as you don't have a PCN in your name. A so-called Third Party Authorisation letter cannot circumvent the regulations.

But you could play a straight bat based upon their written authority to act on THEIR behalf. You have plenty of time. But first, what is your relationship with the lease company and are you prepared to drop them in the mire?

Armed with their letter of authority you could ask that their payment be rescinded and say it was made in error and then make representations on their behalf or, if you have the necessary documents, you could make reps effectively to transfer liability to you and start the process with a fresh PCN.

What's your pleasure?

They must have VCA certification for the camera.

It's an Ealing road not TFL hence the red route end sign.

Looks like you stopped twice and are sufficiently in what is a fairly small stop. The road markings look reasonable and the sign is on the bus stop post as of 2022.

You can stop to pick up and drop off on double yellows before and after.

If the lease company has paid that closes the case. What do your terms say about PCNs?

Bus stops in London are nearly all no stopping clearways and as long as the signage is reasonable very hard to contest.

I've attached the letter from the leasing company who will automatically deduct the £65 from my account but have granted me permission to appeal to challenge the PCN.

Does the no stop clearways link with this red route clearway notice which looks like it ended here.

Hi all,

I've received a PCN today for stopping in a bus stop. I dropped off a family member at the stop as it was quite late and was stopped no more than 10 seconds and kept hazard lights on. I agree I shouldn't have stopped there but the No Stopping sign is quite a bit ahead from where I parked and being late at night I didn't see this.

I am leasing the car so the PCN got sent to the leaseholder who has paid already the £65 and then sent me the PCN notice.

PCN attached (just first page as other pages don't have any other info):

Any advice is appreciated. If there's nothing I can do, then that's fair but I really hate Ealing council as just around the corner from this place was the infamous Connell Crescent which my mum got caught out a few years ago due to the poor signage.

Kind regards
CJ
