@hot_chocolate well because you made representations well outside of the discount period, the discount has not been reoffered. This means there's nothing to be put on hold, the penalty is at £160 and that's that. If you appeal and lose the penalty will still be £160, which is exactly the same position you're in now, but you might win. In the circumstances it's a no-brainer to appeal because you have nothing to lose.

Check TfL's online status/history page to make sure that en forcement has been placed on hold to allow for delivery of CD.

@hot_chocolate yes you could add that, but please note it's not an appeal, it's a representation, the two are not the same thing.
If you tick the "notify" button at the bottom of the page you will get an email notification every time someone replies.

I've received my rejection letter, which I have attached here. I've also ordered the dvd, just waiting for it to come through the post.
Any guidance on next steps would be most appreciated. Thank you again for your time.

Wonderful. Will ask for the dvd footage (don't have a dvd player though?), and also put an appeal through. (Not sure why, but I'm not getting email notifications of replies even though I have it checked - this happened to anyone else too?)
What are your thoughts on appealing along the following lines which I am not making up, but esp. given that its Christmas Day - hopefully some compassion!
It was Christmas Day, my first time driving in the area where I went to stop to get some food - it was past 9pm, and my three little kids (2, 4, and 8) were irritable and hungry. There was lots of traffic on the road, and turning left seem like a good option to find some parking. If I was aware that it was a no-left turn, for sure I would not have turned. This is why the alleged contravention did not occur.

@hot_chocolate the blue arrow is a mandatory instruction sign, also the discount has expired. At this point you might as well put in a one-line representation saying the alleged contravention did not occur, if nothing else this will buy time and preserve the right of appeal.
Also please call TFL on 0343 222 3333 and ask for the footage, they will send you a DVD in the post.
In the meantime I'll ask for the traffic order.

Hello everyone,
Just bumping this up to see if there's any chance of appealing on technical grounds?
I've noticed a discrepancy on the amount to pay on pages 1 and 2 of the PCN, and was wondering if this could be a basis for challenging? On the first page, the amount payable within 28 days is £160. On the second page, it states £130. (On the website, the amount is currently £160 - over 14 days now)
Secondly, I've seen others write here that @cp8759 (not sure how to tag!) has won at Tilling Roads Junction many times, and was wondering if any such technical grounds apply here.

Is anyone aware of any past cases at this location, or similar, where the pcn has been rejected at the tribunal on technical grounds?

Well, I have to say, based on your photo and GSV view that you look bang-to-rights on the contravention itself, but this may not mean it's game-over as many appeals are won on what the council have failed to do correctly. They must obey the law same as you when they throw PCNs around like confetti. So there may be a 'technical' appeal argument, but as these are invariably dealt with at London Tribunals you must be prepared to forego the discount option.

Thank you everyone. To be honest, I can't recall if I saw the straight arrow sign on the traffic light - I did when I saw the GSV image. But assuming I did see it, I'm certain I interpreted it as a guidance indicator for the straight direction rather than as a restriction against turning left. Since I was expecting a 'No Left Turn' sign for explicit clarity, I was unaware that the arrow inherently prohibits left turns without additional signage.

I didn't think the straight arrow actually meant one-way only.

Hi everyone,
I've received a PCN from TFL from taking a left turn from Edgware Road. The traffic light had a straight arrow, but there are no signs saying a left turn was not permitted. I didn't think the straight arrow actually meant one-way only.
I've attached the PCN images over two posts (I previously tried to attach via imagr, but for some reason did not come up)
Your guidance would be most appreciated. Thank you.
