The back of the PCN pl.

Sorry, missed that bit.

Rear of PCN here:

It'll ne buried somewhere in the Road Traffic Act that established yellow lines, so some decades ago. Hopefully somebody will know, but the key thing is that yellow lines apply to a road, which is not just the carriageway, but all of the road, incl verges and footways. There have been cases at the High Court on this.

I did have a quick leaf through the sections of the RTA 1988 but I couldn't find anything within sections that looked like they might be relevant. But for stated cases I wouldn't know where to start!

I've tried to find something written formally on the rules with double yellows and have managed to find some posts on other forums suggesting that parking on the verge side of double yellow lines also means I committed the offence but am struggling for anything more formal

Happy New Year all,

We went for a walk out in the Peaks today (01/01/25) and as the local car park was full I chanced it by parking on the verge side of some double yellow lines. I'm probably bang to rights here but thought i'd check before accepting my guilt and paying my fine.

Clarification on it would be really appreciated.  :)
