I'm not quite certain what you're asking. The events are the events to which posters would give an experienced view of applicable law and procedures.
You seem to be asking which set of facts, if any, would provide a defence.
What happened to other cars and your parking difficulties are not statutory defences.

Some of the photos are from when I returned later at night and some cars had left. There was no space in the permit/charging zone and had I parked on the double yellows right beside the junction then I would have caused an obstruction.
All my DVLA is up to date and I am the registered owner.
Is there a time limit on loading? What are the rules? The PCN says my car was first seen at 20.53 and ticket produced at 20.58. If I had unloaded my BB holder passenger between 20.50 and 21.00, is that acceptable? Thanks all

The lines are clear, the wording is clear(as is the sign albeit it's not required under the new Signs regs).
As per Incandescent, a polite challenge based on mitigation made no later than 21 Nov. in order to preserve the discount.
OP, are you the keeper with up to date DVLA details?

GSV shows a road hump with double-yellow lines beyond the loading bay, then a long pay-by-phone/permit holder bay. In the other direction there are double-yellows up to the road junction, but what seems to be a bay off the carriageway. There is no sign for this, and several GSV views over the years show parking is at least tolerated there
The only approach I can see, is to submit representations on a non-confrontational basis, based on your narrative, emphasising you are a BB holder. They may give way, but its their call. I see nothing in terms of a slam-dunk win at adjudication, unless somebody on here suggests a collateral challenge based on council management of the enforcement process.

Lewisham council - code 25 parked in loading bay - Granville Park
On Friday night I parked in a loading bay and displayed a blue badge (I now know I can’t park in these). I received a PCN from the council. I chose to park here as the double lines already had cars on them (without blue badges) and had I parked on the other side of the road from them (also double yellows) I would have blocked the whole road. Can I appeal this and win? And why didn’t the illegally parked cars not get a PCN? Thanks

Please have a read of this
https://www.ftla.uk/civil-penalty-charge-notices-(councils-tfl-and-so-on)/read-this-first-before-posting-your-case!-this-section-is-for-council-tfl-dartme/
and post up here both sides of the unredacted PCN and a GSV link to the location.
