Hi there, just to update that I'd appealed under the basis of the above reasoning and was successful. The ticket was cancelled under the proviso that if the same mistake happened again, it would likely be upheld.

They also provided advice if I realised I'd made a mistake on the day it happens.

Thanks for your advice on this.

Does it work when you remove the rogue apostrophe?

In short - it almost certainly won't help you. A small typographical error on an invoice doesn't affect the core issue of whether or not the money is owed.

Might be being particularly fussy on this one...but the parking charge reference contains an Apostrophe in the reference, which means it doesnt come up on the website when attempting to locate. Would this have any affect on anything?

Ok, thank you for the advice.

I will appeal on this basis.

Can an appeal be made on the basis that a session was paid for but on the wrong vehicle and the records could probably show that said vehicle didnt enter the car park on said date?
Yes, however they're unlikely to completely cancel the charge. The BPA's Code of Practice (there's a link to it in my signature below) covers this situation - it's what's referred to as a 'keying error', where an error is made entering the vehicle reg when paying for/validating a parking session. There are 'minor errors' (one wrong character etc.), which should see the charge cancelled, and major errors (wrong VRM entirely etc.), that should see a charge of £20 levied.

From what you've presented so far, there doesn't seem to be much that would support an appeal other than the incorrect reg. With that in mind, if you appeal on the basis of the wrong VRM being entered, and making reference to section 17 of the BPA's Code of Practice, they should offer you the option of paying £20.

Notice of parking charge received from Saba for failing to obtain a valid ticket or cashless parking session.

However, a session was paid for on the date stated on the notice of parking charge to registered keeper. Unfortunately, it seems that the driver has selected the wrong vehicle registration on the parking app. Can an appeal be made on the basis that a session was paid for but on the wrong vehicle and the records could probably show that said vehicle didnt enter the car park on said date?

There is an email receipt and bank records confirming payment on the date.

Thanks
