There’s nothing to “dread”. You will gain invaluable knowledge of the civil litigation process and have satisfaction of knowing when they discontinue that it has cost them much more than it has cost you.

Thanks for all the information. I will await the dreaded letter.

It matters not. As this is a DCB Legal issued claim for ECP, a claim will be forthcoming. If you follow the advice given here, it really won't matter on what basis you are defending, it will eventually be discontinued.
They rely solely on recipients of these claims to capitulate and pay them as soon as litigation is initiated. They will hang on until the last possible moment just before they have to pay the trial fee and if the defendant hasn't caved, they will discontinue and go in search of lower-hanging fruit on the gullible tree to try their luck with.

Thanks for the information. On review of the reject of appeal notice I believe the signage they have provided is incorrect. I recall seeing an EV vehicle exempt sign which on looking at google maps would be consistant with my memory.
I have attached the current snip from google maps and it is not the same as the one in their original correspondence.

Craig

To help us to help you, please read the following thread carefully and provide as much of the information asked for as you are able to: READ THIS FIRST - Private Parking Charges Forum guide (https://www.ftla.uk/private-parking-tickets/read-this-first-private-parking-charges-forum-guide/)
DCBL are debt collectors, and can be ignored - they are not interested in any conversation that does not involve payment, and you should not communicate with them.
Eventually, they will get bored and pass the matter back to ECP. They may then instruct their solicitors, DCB Legal (the similar name is no coincidence, it's the legal arm of DCBL), who will issue a Letter of Claim. If you get such a letter, return here for advice. Whilst the prospect of court seems scary, there's a very strong chance it will not get as far as court. We cannot predict the future, but in recent years a strong pattern has emerged, where any claim filed by DCB Legal eventually gets discontinued, if the defendant puts up a defence. See the following thread for evidence of this: DCB LEGAL RECORD OF PRIVATE PARKING COURT CLAIM DISCONTINUATIONS (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6377263/dcb-legal-record-of-private-parking-court-claim-discontinuations)

Hi,
Today i received a dcbl notice for a parking charge i received in October last year. I had parked my RV car to charge for 20 mins and paid handsomly to do this in a car park covered by ECP. I appealed the originnal letter.(attached) showing the receipt of the Ev charging but this was dissmissed. After several letters from ECP i have now received a dcbl requesting the fine to be paid.
Any assistance on how i should proceed with this is greatly appreciated. The fine is now stated as £170 and says i can no longer appeal.
Regards
Craig
